about

Delta9 Recordings are an imprint who have capitalized on the 2019 shift from the more commercially viable types of drum & bass which was infiltrating airwaves and instead focusing on the deep, dark and rolling records which have helped prop up the genre. Release after release, they’ve firmly stuck by their commitment to dropping only the most cutting-edge music which falls within their remit. The forthcoming EP from RMS is no different, with four tracks that not only provide an understanding of the intricacies which he’s built throughout his musical career, but also the vast reaches of Delta9 and the artists they’re able to pull into their roster. However, based out of both Italy and Germany, two imperative trend-setting spaces within Europe, the imprint can only be expected to release packages of the upmost quality.

The first track featured on RMS’ latest ‘Streets on Lock’ offering is ‘Painstake’, setting out the minimalist vibes which continue throughout the EP’s track listing. The collaboration ruminates and epitomizes the crackling undercurrent of each producer’s stamp. ‘Resisted’ comes next and it’s just as obtuse, coming at you through jungle-infused drums and skittering subs which are sure to have a monumental impact on speaker stacks when this record hits club sound systems. ‘Streets on Lock’ is another defining record; as the title-track, it’s a stand out delivery and the use of its carefully built, percussive layers adding one onto the next leaves you caught up in its tidal power. Each slab of the track’s heavily fashioned bassline drives it forward and with every dipping section its impact becomes more and more overbearing. ‘Streets on Lock’ twists through its skeleton with its stabs and grits its teeth; RMS knows how to intimidate with his music. And finally, ‘Take it Back’ throws itself into the mix on top of frizzling LFOS and sliced segments. ‘Take it Back’ moves you through a winding journey, continuously switching and rising you up through elevated peaks. It showcases the complexity of RMS’ engineering, as well as one of the primary aspects of his sound which has enabled his productions to fit so perfectly into the home of Delta9 Recordings.
