Delta9 Recordings are excited to present Wresker and Kilobite's latest EP: Dead Planet. This German duo are quickly establishing a name for themselves by producing top-notch bass masterpieces. Hailing from Berlin and South Germany, this pair's latest offering cements this developing partnership as one to watch in the modern drum and bass scene.
The EP begins with Nightwalker. This is a smooth rolling joint with clean shuffling percussion layered over wall-shaking kick drums and a bass so strong that you feel it in your teeth. Complete with honking reeses and hypnotic synth arpeggiations, this is a track that is sure to keep dancefloors captivated.
Next up is the title track, Dead Planet. A slow synth riff bounces back and forth as klaxons rise, accentuated by the slow unfiltering of the drums which will soon launch you into movement as the bass drops and all hell breaks loose. This track is sure to be a favourite with DJs for its melodic el ements, high energy rhythms and razor sharp production.
Now we have a special VIP of the opening track, Nightwalker. This VIP takes the original concept further beyond the scope of the original. The drop comes sooner, the synths dance wilder and more carefree across the ceiling of the track, creating a mosaic dome under which the heavy bass elements can perform their sacred duty of creating dancefloor chaos.
Orbital closes out this EP, and it's a super strong finish. This track rumbles into life like a mechanical robot being switched on. With the drop, the beast is upright, stumbling about and swinging metallic limbs in rhythmic arcs. The staccato bass resembles the exhaust of an engine, fueling the progressive rhythms forward. The snare interrupts these proceedings with piercing accuracy, keeping your head nodding while your body thrashes to the strict rhythm. Things grow quiet, silence looms....has the engine slowed and come to a stop? This doubt is soon eradica ted as the track launches into a triumphant final passage, all cylinders blasting, the bass frequencies bleeding higher to bring the track, and indeed the EP itself, to a satisfying close.
Craving more, you have no choice but to hit repeat to enjoy the whole journey again!
